Dance and Photography have always been the focal point of my life. I have danced since I was a small child, and have been engaged in photography since the age of 15. For years I have been trying to combine the two arts; portraying my passion for the two in a meaningful and thought provoking way.
In the attached series of images I try to tie together my overwhelming passion for dance, an art where there can be so much drama and despair yet also a quality of softness and grace, while simultaneously trying to capture on film that decisive moment where the dancers are so wrapped into themselves with movement that nothing else matters. Capturing the faces, the beauty of the movement, and the play of light are what both series are about…despair contrasting with beauty.
